In 1996, Sheldon Lobel, P.C. obtained a special permit approval from the City Planning Commission to completely transform an existing manufacturing building within a M1-1 manufacturing zone into a modern church. Construction was completed in 1999. The building was previously an 88,000 square-foot laundry factory, and was completely renovated to include a 2,500 seat sanctuary, as well as eighty classrooms, a day care center, and numerous other uses. The facility has been extolled in numerous publications, including the New York Times, Time Magazine, the New Yorker and Architecture Magazine.
